Time to turn off TV and tune

"PUTTING
on a theatre performance is always a risky business. You don’t
know whether the audience will turn off the telly and risk
the chance of a wasted evening.
Mouthpiece Productions remedies this by taking theatre
to the people. It aims to take accessible, lively performances
to rural venues around the Midlands.
And it has certainly delivered the goods with its latest festival
offerin – Ugly Art at the Chapter House in Worcester
Cathedral.
Set at a gallery opening, we view the tricky relationships
of the characters as they react to pieces of modern art, of
the
“is it actually art?” sort, and their partner
on stage.
Strangers, husbands and wives reveal their relationships
– some beyond hope of salvation, others just blossoming.
The show was light, accessible and, above all, very entertaining.
Sharp one-liners and great performances and enthusiasm gave
the show vibrancy and zest.If you hear Mouthpiece coming to
a venue near you, there is no risk of a wasted evening."

"Ugly Art was quite
fabulous. Great acting, no stage, nice people and a marvellous
thoughful evening."
