Be prepared to shed a tear or two; this benign homily to centuries-old traditions in a quiet corner of Gloucestershire overflows with warmth, love and fine pathos that will melt even the hardest of non-gardening hearts. ! Gloucestershire Echo

We're pleased to be working with Danson Productions to produce this one man play performed by David Danson

A production so warm and welcoming that it could have been a fireside chat with my late grandfather!

Old Herbaceous brings to life a rural English garden and gardener.

This gentle one man play takes us back to a simpler age of good natured and wise fun.It tells of the relationship between Herbert Pinnegar and his employer Mrs Charteris, a relationship that spanned nearly seventy years as he tended the garden of her country manor house somewhere in Gloucestershire.

Through his reminiscences we hear how Bert Pinnegar rises from inauspicious schoolboy days spent picking wildflowers to become the legendary Head Gardener "Old Herbaceous," the most esteemed flower-show judge in the county and a famed horticultural wizard.

As Bert potters around his plant pots and gardening tools, he tells us tales of his life as a gardener. He gives us gardening tips and even cookery suggestions and through his eyes we are drawn into his world, a world that brims with olde worlde charm and fond memories with just a hint of sadness.

....a splendid central performance..was delivered most beautifully by Dave Danson. A large man with a large beard to match....his mellow chuckles and softness of touch wrapped around the audience like a warm blanket.....! Malvern Gazette

I could have listened to old Pinnegar well into the small hours! Gloucestershire Echo

Malcolm's new show is a mixture of comedy, music and chat about his years in entertainment.

Malcolm is one of the Midland's most popular entertainers. Since his folk singing days in the Sixties he's kept audiences laughing with his brand of Birmingham humour and his outlook on life. He's had his own TV and radio shows and his stage musicals and plays such as Go And Play Up Your Own End have been huge hits. He writes, directs and performs in the popular annual pantomime at the Solihull Arts Complex.

In this show Malcolm is backed by a 4 piece band and he tells stories and anecdotes about some of the people and celebrities from the world of show business and sport that he's met over the years.
He looks back with some great songs and stories that makes this an evening of fun, music and memories not to be missed.
