I ENJOYED a theatre experience
with a difference when I attended Mouthpiece Productions'
latest show. On the face of it the play, cleverly written
by Karoline Leach, is a straight forward tale of George
Love, conman and serial womanizer and Adelaide, his next
conquest/victim set in Edwardian England. However, beneath
the surface there is a lot going on and feelings run high.
The acting by the two stars, Marcus Fernando and Denise
Knight, is absolutely superb and the surroundings were such
that every nuance of emotion shown on their faces was on
show throughout - and I found this a wonderful, moving experience.

You'll
just love Mr. Love's crisis. MOUTHPIECE Productions is on
the road again, taking theatre to the people with a re-run
of the hit show, the Mysterious Mr. Love. the troupe's punishing
itinerary, which has seen its actors perform around Worcestershire
and beyond, deposited them in the Marr's Bar, in Worcester,
last week. The team can set up at venue within an hour -
versatility being Mouthpiece Production's middle name.
The story follows George, (Marcus Fernando), aka Mr. Love,
an exit-through-the-back-window con artists, striding the
streets of London on the lookout for women with a bit of
cash. Adelaide ( Denise Knight), a back-room hat-maker,
is insecure about her weight and seemingly the perfect target.
But after a night of revelations, Mr. Love's crisis of confidence
begins. You can discover what happens to Mr. and Mrs. Love
on the several performances left on the show's itinerary.
Engaging and Precise, Mr. Love will surely earn Mouthpiece
many return invitations. -
